What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated engineering
technician to join the Cell Manufacturing Engineering group, a team focused on
creating robust, beautiful, data-centric automated machines. You will develop
automation equipment used for manufacturing Tesla s next generation lithium-ion
cells.
- Build, assemble, and setup production line electronics
and fixtures. - Install electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic circuitry and
controls or data circuits. - Installation and use of data acquisition equipment and
other instrumentation. - Record and analyze test data.
- Document and report on issues found during test and
work closely with Engineers to correct. - Maintain electronics and mechanical equipment.
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual
development - Generate aesthetically simple looking wire routing and
builds
- 2+ years hands-on experience building/wiring up
various hardware in an engineering development environment - Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical
engineering fundamentals. - Exposure to a variety of electrical and mechanical
systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment - Strong experience with reading, interpreting, and
drawing electrical schematics and circuits. - Strong experience with wiring diagrams and harness
drawings - Experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs and HV power
supplies. - Experience building electrical panels and/or automated
fixtures - Experience with cable management and clean wire
routing a must - Ability to use basic shop tools required (drill press,
band saw, etc ) - Must be able to solder and crimp both large and small
components - Basic understanding of electrical circuits required
- Ability to create electrical schematics and CAD
drawings a plus - Exposure to oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and DC
loads a plus - AS or BS degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is a plus - Experience operating jacks, lifts, or related to
position equipment for install is desired. - Experience with common MS office programs (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Expected Compensation
$23.60 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
