The Role
Role Engineering Technician, D Shift (Nights) Tesla is currently seeking an Engineering Technician who will be dedicated to supporting Tesla's Engineering and Operation Teams at Gigafactory New York in Buffalo. D Shift: 7pm - 7am, every other Wednesday and every Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Responsibilities
• Display a positive attitude and practice strong work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy and goals at Tesla. • Take direction from our manufacturing, process, and equipment engineering teams to develop and set up design of experiments (DOE), as well as build and test Tesla equipment and products. • Participate in the transition of a product from pilot line production into high volume manufacturing. • Analyze and optimize production processes and equipment to ensure safety while maximizing yield, capacity and capability in cost effective • means. • Support Operations, Engineering and Equipment Maintenance Team with analyzing and diagnosing production equipment failures. • Solve problems. • Provide technical writing and documentation. • Provide data analysis and experiment summaries. • Support engineering and operations projects as needed by management as business needs shift or change.
Requirements
• Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics background preferred or equivalent in work experience. • Evidence of exceptional ability. • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with troubleshooting high volume automated manufacturing/production equipment and processes is strongly preferred. • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred • Ability to fabricate and set up design of experiments utilized for production. • Able to write operating and maintenance procedures for manufacturing processes. • Ability to support FMEA's. • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. • Ability to train production personnel on proper assembly processes and procedures. • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Solidworks and or AutoCAD. • Demonstrated safe work practices, able to lift up to 50 lbs. • Exhibit effective written and verbal communication is required. • Ability to travel up to 10%.
